Brian Greene competed in STS and ISEF in 1980 before becoming a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University, specializing in superstring theory. At Columbia University, he helped form the Institute for Strings, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics and has directed the university鈥檚 Center for Theoretical Physics. Greene shares science concepts with popular audiences through his books and two award-winning NOVA mini-series. He is also one of the co-founders of the annual World Science Festival in New York City, and a member of the Society鈥檚 Honorary Board.
